Bin Ali Songoro is a senior student at Central Washington University in Leadership & Management major with a minor in Political Science. Bin Ali Songoro Currently works at Comcast as an Assistant Tech manager. His hobbies include social political debates, spending time with loved ones and Traveling. Afropedia partakes a very important role in encouraging the youth to participate in their civic duties. Since founding Afropedia in 2019, Beverly has been assessing the direction of the organization by developing short and long-term goals, plans, and strategies, and ensuring Afropedia’s compliance with the stated mission. When creating the organisation, Beverly aimed for Afropedia to become a support system where individuals would support and inspire one another. Beverly graduated with a Bachelors’ degree in computer sciences and is now a software engineer. While completing her education at Bellevue College, she served as a mentor for international students, Front Desk Lead and Technology representative for the Student Government. After receiving her bachelor’s degree, Mireille worked as a civil engineer for a small firm where she designs and drafts civil plans for developments within the state of Washington. As a formal international student, Mireille is dedicated to serve her community through educational and professional mentorship. She has helped many students, especially immigrants achieve their goals and maintain legal status in the United States. Mireille enjoys making kombucha and spending quality time with friends. She also enjoys dancing and cultural activities. After a few meetings, these young students were able to identify many issues which led them to conclude that just having weekly meetings was not going to be enough to respond to the needs of their fellow students. Among the problematics, we realized there was a poor retention rate in schools, lack of guidance, and lack of proper integration for new students from different walks of life to permit successful completion of their academic agenda. Many challenges in life are part of the reason for these problems.
